Following several worrying rumors telling that Tatiana would retire soon, we decided to join her and ask her about her current feelings. Tati, who had finally started training again with Courteau a couple of weeks ago, and who thought that the injury was gone for good, was struck again. She might have an Ankylosing spondylitis, which is basically a chronic degenerative inflammatory arthritis. (Check the wikipedia page for more informations.) It would apparently not be possible to heal this disease, but it could go away sometimes. According to the doctors, a sportsman who would have this disease’s career would be filled with ups and downs.
Nonetheless, Tati stays hopeful and keeps believing. In a mail she sent us earlier, she told us that "unfortunately, I’m still suffering from my back, so I have to stop again, I can’t tell you more. It is pretty tough but I am ok and I am still optimistic."
Tatiana also visits the website from time to time and She wanted to thank you again : "I can’t thank you guys enough. I want to thank you and your team, and all the fans for your support and your encouragements ! "
To finish on a good note, Tatiana has been chosen to appear in the very famous Sports llustrated Swimsuit Issue 2009, which should be out in February in the United States. The photoshoot will take place in the beginning of December in Dominican Republic. Have fun Tat’ !
Best of luck Tatiana, we are sure that good things are yet to come.
Don’t forget that Tatiana really needs your messages and that she speaks English and Russian, so don’t hesitate to send her a few nice words wherever you come from.

Please email me. I have suffered with my inflammatory disease but am cured now. It will take 6 month to one year because you are young and is an antibiotic protocol. Believe me, Kathleen turner the actress has used this also for her rheumatoid arthritis. She is cured. All inflammatory diseases are the same basically so this cures them all. Please please email me.

Tatiana,
I’m sorry to hear about your diagnosis but I wanted to make sure that you’re aware there are organizations dedicated specifically to those suffering the effects of AS.
The Spondylitis Association of America (SAA) is the largest non-profit organization in the world dedicated to improving the lives of people with ankylosing spondylitis. Formed in 1982, SAA is committed to increasing awareness of AS, providing information and support to people with AS, and ultimately, working to uncover a cure for the disease.
SAA’s mission is to be a leader in the quest to cure AS and related diseases and to empower those affected to live life to the fullest.
Resources are available — including books, videotapes, brochures and publications, a 600 page website with interactive message boards, a quarterly news magazine, and a tight-knit community of people who understand the daily challenges of living with this chronic illness. For more information, feel free to contact me at diann.peterson@spondylitis.org or visit www.spondylitis.org.
I hope you’re standing tall soon!
